Vice President Kevin Smith, Business Agent Rudy Marinacci and I hope you and your family have continued to remain healthy and safe during the pandemic.
On February 10th, Governor Cuomo authorized the opening of arenas that have a seating capacity of 10,000 spectators or more. In the past few weeks, Vice President Smith, Business Agent Marinacci and I have held discussions with ASM Global regarding the reopening process of the Nassau Coliseum. As per the governor’s instructions regarding socially distanced seating, at this time, he mandates no more than 10% capacity of fans. At this time, we have not gone over their safety parameters or the steps that will be taken to ensure a safe work environment.
The Nassau Coliseum and the New York Islanders are still unsure if they will reopen. If they do reopen, we are unsure what the date of the first event will be. In preparation of the Coliseum opening, ASM Global has asked us to reach out to only the Usher/Ticket Takers who were employed on March 16, 2020, the date of the shutdown. This process is strictly a REHIRE process, not a new hiring process. ASM is only looking to rehire a percentage of former Usher/Ticket Takers who were in good standing at the time of the shutdown.
Below is the link to apply for the job of Usher/Ticket Taker. I am asking you, if you were in good standing when the Nassau Coliseum shut down, to apply for the position as soon as possible. The link will take you to ASM Global’s website where you will have to register. As part of the application to be rehired, you will be required to submit a resume. Business Agent Marinacci is available to assist any member if you have questions regarding updating your work history. Keep in mind, ASM is the same company as AEG. The link asks you if you ever worked for ASM, the answer is YES.
